B.I. Pony Club
What you can expect from BI Pony Club:
Unmounted Meetings are the second Wednesday of each month with a focus on horse management covering all aspects of equine care.
Mounted Meetings are the fourth Sunday January-October with a focus on Dressage and Eventing. Our meetings are taught by either our Club Trainer or a top ranked guest instructor. These are formatted in a small groups or in a clinic format.
Horse Shows are an opportunity to advance unmounted and mounted skills by either attending local shows in person or virtually.
Regional Quiz Rally is held in March. B.I. Pony Club sponsors this event for members.
Volunteering occurs at least once a year with all members encouraged to attend to help out our community.
Pony Club Camp is held in late summer before school and consists of up to a week of horse related fun both on and off horses.
Horse Management Camp is held in February by the USPC Northwest Region. It is a weekend event focusing on unmounted horse management activities.
Certifications are held by the club at least twice throughout the year. D1-D2 are done in house by our Pony Club District Commissioner (DC) or Joint DC. D3-C2 examinations are done on the local/Regional level by an outside examiner. C3 and above are held at a national level throughout the year.
Excursions are held throughout the year. These outings are organized by the club and change yearly. In the past Pony Club has visited a warmblood breeding farm, attended the races at Emerald Downs, audited a Prix St George Dressage show, and more.
If you would like more information about our club, please fill out the contact form or reach out via text or email listed at bottom on page.
What you can expect from Pony Club:
Pony Club is for anyone of any age or experience, who is interested in horses and riding. There are ten levels, called ratings, with defined standards for each level. All Pony Club members test for each rating when they are ready. Each rating includes riding tests, stable management, and oral testing. Testing for the first five ratings (D1, D2, D3, C1, and C2) are done by local examiners. Ratings C3 and above are done by national examiners. The upper levels require a high degree of skill, knowledge, and horsemanship experience.
Please visit the United States Pony Club Website for a comprehensive view of Pony Club.
