May Unmounted Meeting
Benson Barns. Members will go over tack care and cleaning. What is expected for routine. care as well as certifications and rallies. Parasites will be discussed. What environmental control methods are used? Internal parasites and deworming.

November Unmounted Meeting
Benson Barns. How to clean a stall and manure management. What does it take to properly condition your horse?
April Unmounted Meeting
Benson Barns. A presentation on grooming tools, usage, and care. We will be going over record books. Farrier, Casey Bohlmann, will teach us about farrier tools, care of the hoof, and common problems seen in hoof care.
March Mounted Meeting
Benson Barns. Members will not be riding. We will be working on learning to lunge, longline/ground driving and bandaging. We will be learning about the various training gear, from the basic to the elaborate. If you want to haul your own pony to use, do so! It is encouraged! Cookie Monster and Rusty will be available for hands on practice. These skills are required for certifications. Correct attire to be worn, if you don’t know what is required for lunging, look it up in your manuals. Pamela will be teaching, and D3s and C1s will be instructing as well, both lunging and bandaging.
Community Service
Bainbridge Island Saddle Club: 7650 NW Day RD, Bainbridge Island, WA 98110. B.I. Pony club will be doing community service at Bainbridge Island Saddle Club - Spring Clean Up Party! We will also be opening and cleaning the Cook Shack to ready it for the 2025 season. This is a show-up and do what is needed kind of day. If you have yard tools, please bring them. See you there!
Everything Rally!

Quiz Rally
This year’s quiz rally will be held at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 1305 Pine Ave, Snohomish, WA 98290. More information on teams, schedule’s, and details have been posted to the WhatsApp thread for members to read.
March Unmounted Meeting
Benson Barns. We will be continuing our veterinary section including routine veterinary care and TPRs. There will also be presentations on leg and hoof dissection.
We will have another two new members joining us, Sadie and Harper!
February Mounted Meeting
Meet at Benson Barns! Due to Horse Management Camp, our February Mounted Meeting was moved to March 2. This meeting will focus on riding in groups both in and out of the arena! We will also be having a safety meeting as regulations for what is acceptable for pony club use has changed. Tricia Benson will be talking about this with parent and adult members. After the mounted meeting, we will hold a study session and pizza to prepare for quiz rally.
Horse Management Camp
Meet at Miracle Ranch: 15999 Sidney RD SW, Port Orchard, WA 98367. This camp is open to call ages and levels. The focus is horse management. There will be live horses at the camp, so it is important to dress in Pony Club Attire. See email for more information.

January Mounted Meeting
Meeting at Sandamar Farm: 4499 NE Gunderson RD, Poulsbo, WA 98370. Members riding should meet at Rachael’s house to load the trailer at 7 and also unload after the meeting. First lesson begins at 10 at Sandamar Farm being taught by Amanda Gelderman. Non-riding members should still plan to attend to assist other members, observe the lessons, and learn. Members assisting with grooming, tacking, holding mounts, helping with safety checks is all part of the learning process.

Nutrition Seminar
Meet at 911 NE Liberty Road, Poulsbo, WA. Nutritionists Dr Connie Larson and Crystal White from CHS NW (Cenex) are presenting. This event is free and open to all Pony Clubs in the region. Space is limited and registration is required. This seminar is a vital portion of the Horse Management Program.
Topics to be covered:
Basic equine nutritional care and needs: What to feed and when? Maintenance vs conditional vs working/performance.
How do I know what to feed?
Types of Concentrates/Grains, and nutritional values.
Mixed Feeds and Process Feeds: types of processing, how to read a label, extruded vs pelleted.
Types of Supplements: what does a horse really need and when?
Factors that affect quality and palatability.
